Olympique Lyonnais' impressive recent form continued as they secured their fourth consecutive victory across all competitions with a 1-0 win against OGC Nice on Friday night at Groupama Stadium.

Most of OL's offensive production came in the first half with five total shots. Their efforts paid off as Orel Mangala opened the scoring in the 22nd minute to get the squad off on the right foot for this contest.

Afterward, it was all Nice as their attack registered nine total shots in the first half and 11 total shots in the second. Despite their efforts to find the equalizer, Francesco Farioli and his team weren't rewarded with a goal.

In the second half, Lyon's attack went quiet with four total shots, and their defense remained busy, preventing Nice from tying the match. While OL's defending was tested throughout the 90 minutes, they held up to secure the three points.

Lyon now has 25 points and further distances themselves from the relegation zone. As for Nice (39 points), who are winless in their last three Ligue 1 games, the loss will allow for Stade Bresois (37 points) and AS Monaco (38 points) to leapfrog them should either of these two teams secure wins on Matchday 22.

Pierre Sage and his team aim to extend their win streak five when they travel to Stade Saint-Symphorien for a road match against FC Metz. Nice will look to end their winless streak when they host Clermont Foot at the Allianz Riviera.
