With France besting Uruguay 2-0, Belgium dispatching Brazil 2-1 and Croatia beating Russia 4-3 on penalties after extra time ended 2-2, Ligue 1 Conforama continues to be extremely well represented as the FIFA World Cup 2018 moves into the semi-finals stage. No fewer than 12 players from France's top flight are set to contest the semi-finals with their respective teams.

PSG and Monaco in front, OM and OL follow

Paris Saint-Germain (Alphonse Areola, Presnel Kimpembe, Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappé) and AS Monaco (Danijel Subasic, Djibril Sidibé, Thomas Lemar, Youri Tielemans) are the best-represented clubs, with four players each. The top two sides from the league season just past come in ahead of OM (Steve Mandanda, Adil Rami, Florian Thauvin), who have three [layers through to the semis. OL round out the dozen with Nabil Fekir.

Already assured of having at least one man in the final, Ligue 1 Conforama also boasts two players among the FIFA World Cup 2018's top ten goal scorers, with Edinson Cavani (9th) and Kylian Mbappé (10th), each with three goals. Mbappé, one of just four players (along with Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Antoine Griezmann) in the top ten goal scorers still in the competition, can still improve his ranking as the semi-final with Belgium looms.

In terms of 'keepers, Ligue 1 Conforama is still front and centre after Danijel Subasic (AS Monaco) once again donned his hero costume for Croatia, saving a penalty in the quarter-final win over Russia after having saved three in the round-of-16 win over Denmark.

Meunier suspended against Les Bleus

Paris Saint-Germain's Thomas Meunier will unfortunately not be able to turn out for Belgium as they take on France in the semis on Tuesday, 10July at 20:00 CET. The Red Devils' right-back is suspended after receiving a second yellow card in the competition in the 2-1 quarter-finals win over Brazil.
