Former FC Metz attacking midfielder Florent Mollet will remain in Ligue 1 Conforama next season, having signed for Montpellier HSC on Thursday morning.

Montpellier coach Michel Der Zakarian now has his third new recruit of the summer transfer window. After forward Petar Skuletic and defender Damien Le Tallec, the club has captured attacking midfielder Florent Mollet, 26. After coming up through the Dijon FCO youth academy and breaking into the senior team there, he made his name with US Créteil-Lusitanos in Domino's Ligue 2 in season 2015-2016 (11 goals and four assists) before making his Ligue 1 Conforama debut with FC Metz. Despite the club's being relegated at the end of, it last season, it was in the 2017-18 campaign that Mollet hit his straps, scoring seven goals. His signing for Montpellier Hérault SC will see him continue his progression in France's top flight.

"I hope that we have a great season and that I can live up to the expectations and the faith that the club has shown in me. I still have a lot to learn; it's just my third season in Ligue 1 Conforama," Mollet explained on the club's official website.
