Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer picked up a foot injury in the 3-0 opening-day win over Nîmes Olympique and will be absent from between 15 and 21 days.
Just after getting off to a powerful start to the 2019-20 Ligue 1 Conforama season, Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has to contend with more injury issues, Thilo Kehrer having been forced off with a foot complaint during the opening-day win over Nîmes.
Lesion!
"Thilo Kehrer suffered a lesion to his right foot during Sunday's opening Ligue 1 game of the season," read the official statement on psg.fr. "The medical staff will evaluate more precisely how long he will be sidelined depending on how the injury heals, currently estimated at 15 to 21 days."
The German international, 22, was replaced by Thomas Meunier in the 76th minute of the match against Les Crocos having played 83 balls at a success rate of 96% while winning six challenges. He joins Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera - who is suffering from a calf injury and out until September - in the infirmary.
"This is just the second game (after the Trophée des Champions) and it's the second injured player, I don't like it," lamented Tuchel. "We will miss his presence as we look to create a base for the season, to have competition and to developing the playing relationship. We have to adapt and find solutions."
