Check out the full 38-week calendar for Ligue 1 Conforama's season 2019-20!
The 2019-20 Ligue 1 Conforama calendar was unveiled by the LFP on Friday, 14 June 2019. Ligue 1 Conforama kicks back into action on Friday, 9 August 2019 (Week 1), and ends with the multiplex of all ten Week 38 fixtures being played simultaneously on Saturday, 23 May 2020.
Modernised
Since season 2014-15, the structure of the Ligue 1 Conforama calendar has been modernised to better take into account sporting factors and the wishes of cubs and broadcasters as well as organizational and climatic constraints.
As has been the case in the past two seasons, the calendar is asymmetrical and each club has a maximum of four pivots, with a pivot constituted by a run of two matches in a row wither home or away (eight clubs have four pivots, ten have three and two have two).
This asymmetrical structure preserves sporting equity, as each club will play nine or ten matches at home and nine or ten matches away from home in each half of the season. No club will play more than three away matches in any five-match stretch.
Details
Moreover, particular attention has been paid to the scheduling of big matches for each club, as well as to the security constraints communicated by the DNLH (the anti-hooligan arm of the French police).
Weeks 16 and 23 have been scheduled as mid-week rounds and that, in consideration of the Coupe de la Ligue BKT and Coupe de France finals, Weeks 31 and 34 have been scheduled for Sundays 4 and 26 April 2020.
And, as has become customary, Week 19 - as well as the final two rounds of the season, Weeks 37 and 38 - will see all ten matches played simultaneously, on Saturday 16 and 23 May, 2020.
