Following a special meeting of the LFP on Wednesday, June 12, the board of the LFP has ratified a major agreement between Ligue 1 and Uber Eats. From the 2019-2020 season, Uber Eats becomes an official partner of the Ligue 1 Conforama, and will then be the competition’s title sponsor, becoming Uber Eats Ligue 1, for the two following seasons, 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. Launched in France in March 2016, the Uber Eats app is now available in more than 110 French cities and allows the delivery of dishes from over 15,000 partner restaurants in less than 30 minutes, 7 days a week and without a minimum order. Uber's technology and know-how are at the service of restaurants to simplify meal delivery and bring the best experience to all users.
The LFP is very happy and proud to announce this innovative partnership in concert with an international and dynamic brand like Uber Eats. This partnership affirms the renewal and attractiveness of Ligue 1 both in France and internationally. In working with Uber Eats, the LFP finds the best partner to support its international growth and to tackle new challenges, but also to offer more to its spectators. From 2019/2020, this partnership will offer many opportunities throughout the season, to all fans of French football, giving them unique experiences in line with their passion when watching matches. Ligue 1 welcomes Uber Eats!
Didier Quillot, Executive Director of the LFP: "This major agreement reflects the new dimension taken by Ligue 1. We are very proud to be able to count on the support of Uber Eats, a major global brand, to support the development of the French championship. From next season, Uber Eats will be present within the league’s sponsorship material; there are some surprises and offers to come along with this. From 2020/2021, the title partnership agreement will represent a major agreement. After its partnership agreements with major US sports franchises, we are very proud that Uber Eats has chosen Ligue 1 as its first European sport partnership with the aim of supporting its development and expansion. We are also particularly pleased to be able to associate Ligue 1 with a very strong brand among young consumers. “
Stéphane Ficaja, General Manager, Uber Eats for Western and Southern Europe: "Present in 110 cities in France, we are very happy to be associated with the LFP, an iconic national body. Football is a sport that unites all generations and is a major focus on the part of many French people and Uber Eats users. Through this partnership, we want to continue to be part of their daily lives and to build a relationship for the long term by offering them new experiences. We warmly thank the LFP for choosing us to support them in the development of the championship of France and of French professional clubs, to trust us in building this digital turning point, and we look forward to delivering the first offers to users and football fans!"
