Neymar Jr. has reaffirmed his commitment to Paris Saint-Germain following his match-winning intervention against RC Strasbourg Alsace at the Parc des Princes on Saturday evening.

With Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani injured and recent loan signing Mauro Icardi only fit enough for a place on the bench, there was added pressure on Neymar against Strasbourg, the Brazilian playing his first match of the season following a protracted transfer saga with former club Barcelona.

The match looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Neymar latched onto Abdou Diallo's cross in injury time to score a stunning overhead kick and seal a 1-0 win.

It was the 27-year-old's 35th goal in 38 Ligue 1 Conforama games with Paris, and the capital club are yet to lose in any of the 26 league fixtures he has scored in. Speaking to the press post-match, Neymar sounded determined to tally many more.

"Unfortunately, I've had injuries over the last few years but every time I've played I've delivered," he said. "I've certainly had the best statistics of my career here. The transfer market's closed. It's a closed chapter. I won't talk about it anymore.

"My head is at PSG. I'll give everything on the pitch. I'm totally focused here and will give everything as I have at any club I've played for. I'm very happy to have scored. It was a special day."

Neymar will next be in action on Wednesday, when PSG take on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Group A opener.
