Olympique de Marseille are hopeful Steve Mandanda will be fit for their next game after coming off injured in the first half against Metz on Saturday.

Mandanda, who has been in excellent form, hobbled off with an ankle problem just after the half-hour mark at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, being replaced by Yohann Pelé. The substitute went on to be the hero for the visitors, with a second-half penalty save laying the foundation for OM to come back and draw 1-1.

Of Mandanda's injury, coach André Villas-Boas said: "It is not too swollen. Hopefully he will be able to play against Nîmes. It is up to the medical staff now to do their job. Maybe he will be able to play, but we will see."

Marseille, who remain second in the table, entertain the Crocodiles at the Orange Vélodrome next Saturday in their final outing of 2019.
