Strasbourg coach Thierry Laurey hailed his players' coming from behind to win 3-2 against Bordeaux and secure a place in the Coupe de la Ligue BKT final; opposite number Eric Bédouet felt his side fell short in several areas.
RC Strasbourg Alsace 3 - 2 Girondins de Bordeaux
Thierry Laurey (RC Strasbourg Alsace coach): "We dominated the first half, even though we were pretty sloppy. It was rough and against the run of play for us to be behind at the break, but the lads really applied themselves and it paid off. Given the match as a whole, it was a deserved win. The whole team rallied. We created a lot of chances and terms of our preparations and our plans, everything went well."
Eric Bédouet (Girondins de Bordeaux coach): "We couldn't find an answer. We weren't really in it; we were lacking in many departments and we made defensive errors we never usually make. We did well by turns and we were lucky enough to go in front, but we couldn't hang onto the lead. We didn't have what it took to clinch a place in the final; we scored two goals but it wasn't enough. Everyone's disappointed but when you're a professional, you have know how to bounce back. Congratulations to Strasbourg, they deserved the win."
