With 1.33 billion euros of transfers this summer in French football, Ligue 1 Conforama enjoyed a record transfer window.
The figure was up 22% on 2018. Ligue 1 Conforama clubs spent 445 million euros to sign players from abroad, up 57% on the previous year. 16 players came in from abroad at a cost of 10 million euros or greater, up from 10 in 2018.
Emilie Marcheval, the head of legal services at the LFP, said: "It was a more quality-laden and homogenous transfer window. Unlike in previous years, there hasn't been a drain towards abroad. There's a relative balance between the departures and arrivals. Ligue 1 is less a championship that supplies players to our rivals."
