Radamel Falcao found the net twice to ensure AS Monaco took a point from their trip to fellow strugglers Angers SCO with a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

 Angers SCO 2-2 AS Monaco

THE MATCH
Paris Saint-Germain's win at Caen earlier in the day meant Monaco had five points between themselves and the bottom three, and last weekend's defeat of Olympique Lyonnais was another source of optimism for the visitors.

Angers, though, had strung together three successive wins to lift themselves away from trouble, and the hosts were quick out of the blocks. Flavien Tait sent a warning shot wide (11') before opening the scoring — he moved in from the left, got a lucky bounce of the ball, and whipped a shot under Danijel Subasic (22').

The Croatia international goalkeeper did manage to deny Stéphane Bahoken a second when the Angers forward bore down on him following an excellent through ball by ex-Monaco man Thomas Mangani (35'), but was beaten again before half-time by Tait, who curled home a shot following Benoît Badiashile's miscued clearance (45').

Falcao spot on

Monaco responded quickly after the break through their captain Falcao — the Colombia international was played in behind the home defence by Aleksandr Golovin, and finished with his habitual unerring precision to put Leonardo Jardim's men back in the game (49').

He would have brought them level nine minutes later only for Ludovic Butelle to win out in their one-on-one duel (54'), and had to wait until ten minutes from time before finally doing so, slotting home from the penalty spot after Carlos Vinicius had been brought down by Ismaël Traoré (80').

THE PLAYER: Radamel Falcao
The ex-Porto and Atletico Madrid man stood up to be counted once again when his team needed him. He now has 11 league goals this season, reaching double figures for the third successive top-flight campaign in France.

THE STAT: 100
The match was Falcao's 100th Ligue 1 game, and saw him take his tally to 61 top-flight goals in France.
