After 13 rounds of Ligue 1 Conforama action, check out who has been on top in athletic terms in the 2019-20 campaign.

In the first third of this 2019-20 Ligue 1 Conforama season, which clubs and players have excelled in terms of their athletic performances?

Angers SCO, still at the top....

One club - known for its athletic qualities and already among last season's high achievers - stands out in most of the categories studied by STATS PERFORM: Angers SCO.

In 13 matches, Stéphane Moulin's players have covered the most kilometres overall (1506.2 km), but also dominated in terms of sprints (31.3 km) and high intensity activity (89 km). In terms of distance covered in a match, six of the twenty Ligue 1 Conforama teams set their records in Week 12 or 13: Dijon FCO, Olympique Lyonnais, AS Monaco, RC Strasbourg Alsace and Toulouse FC in Week 12, Paris Saint-Germain in Week 13.

And while Angers 'only' have second place in terms of the longest distance covered in a match (123.2 km against Amiens SC in Week 8) behind Olympique Lyonnais (123.5 km in Toulouse in Week 12they do have the league's third-hardest runner in the individual rankings.

... Santamaria too

Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria is the player with the highest average distance run per match in Ligue 1 Conforama (12.3 km). Like his team, he was already one of the benchmarks in the top flight last season. He is ahead of two other midfielders: Haris Belkebla (Stade Brestois 29, 11.9 km), who holds the record for the distance covered in a match (13.4 km against OL in Week 7), and Didier Ndong (Dijon FCO, 11.7 km).

Bouna Sarr: The sprinter

Bouna Sarr, who is either a right-back or a right midfielder at OM, certainly doesn't spare the horses on the right flank. The proof: he is the league's sprint king, having made 235 runs at over 25 km/h. Behind him on the podium is - surprise, surprise - another Angers man: attacking midfielder Mathias Pereira Lage (210 sprints) and the current AS Monaco right wing-back Gelson Martins (201).
