Dijon FCO have announced the signature of France international playmaker Yoann Gourcuff on a season-long deal.

France international playmaker Yoann Gourcuff (31 caps, four goals) has signed a one-year contract with Ligue 1 Conforama side Dijon FCO, the Burgundy club announced on Friday. Gourcuff, 32, was a free agent following the end of his contract with Stade Rennais FC - who did not offer him an extension - at the end of season 2017-18.

Gourcuff returned to Stade Rennais - the club whose renowned youth academy he attended from 2003 to 2006) - for a second spell in 2015 after several seasons with Olympique Lyonnais (2010 to 2015). Gourcuff made his professional debut with Rennes after transferring there from AC Milan (2006 to 2008).

'Talent and experience to help the team'

Gourcuff enjoyed his best spell under Laurent Blanc at FC Girondins de Bordeaux (2008 to 2010), when he won the Ligue 1 Conforama title in 2009. Last season, he played 13 Ligue 1 Conforama matches, scoring one goal.

"His footballing qualities are unanimously recognised in French football. He will, no doubt, be able to bring his talent and his experience to help the team," enthused Dijon president Olivier Delcourt in a communiqué published on the club's official website.
