After making a splash by signing for Amiens SC in the final minutes of the transfer window, Brazil midfielder Ganso could make his debut for the club as they play host to LOSC in their Week 5 Ligue 1 Conforama clash on Saturday.

There was no shortage of surprised faces as Ganso put pen to paper on a season-long loan from Sevilla as the final seconds of the summer transfer window ticked down. Why would a Brazil international (eight caps) attacking midfielder opt to leave La Liga stalwarts Sevilla for a small club from France's north in just their second-ever season in Ligue 1 Conforama?

In the squad

Well, the surprised, the optimistic and the naysayers could all have a chance to see what the fuss was about as early as this weekend, according to coach Christophe Pélissier, who spoke to French sports radio station RMC on Tuesday.

"I want to see how he goes in training this week," said the Amiens boss, who is looking to stretch the club's unbeaten run of a win and a draw - which came after consecutive losses - as fourth-placed LOSC come calling. "But I think he will be in the squad to face Lille on Saturday."

Easy does it

Pélissier, aware that Ganso has been through some tough times of late after once being considered The Next Big Thing in Brazilian football, urged patience for the former teammate of Neymar Jr at Santos in his homeland.

"He will help us to exert more control over matches, especially when things aren't going our way," predicted Pélissier. "But we won't radically change our way of playing, and neither will he. We'll just need some time to adapt to each other."

Amiens' clash with LOSC kicks off at 20:00 CET on Saturday.
