OGC Nice midfielder Danilo Barbosa has been sidelined with an ankle sprain but the Côte d'Azur club have not announced the duration of his absence.

OGC Nice's Brazilian midfielder Danilo Barbosa is suffering from a sprained ankle, the club announced on Monday. Signed in the summer from Portuguese club Braga and in coach Patrick Vieira's starting XI since the beginning of the season, 22- year-old Danilo Barbosa felt a twinge as he played a full 90 minutes in Nice's 4-0 home defeat to Dijon in Week 3.

Out for OL clash

Initial medical exams revealed a sprained ankle and the South American midfielder will doubtless be out of action for Les Aiglons' Ligue 1 Conforama week 4 curtain-raiser in Lyon on Friday night. Nice are yet to advise how long Barbosa will be out of action.
