Dimitri Liénard proved a revelation for RC Strasbourg Alsace in Ligue 1 Conforama last season, and now the club has secured his services for another two seasons, through to 2021.

Talismanic midfielder Dimitri Liénard has extended his deal with RC Strasbourg Alsace by two seasons, the club has announced. Since his arrival at the club in 2013, when they played their football in the National (D3), the 30-year-old has played 176 matches in all competitions, scoring 28 goals - including the decisive last-gasp free-kick against Lyon that kept the club from the far-east of France in Ligue 1 Conforama back in May.

"I'm obviously very happy, but also very proud, to continue on this road with Racing," Liénard, who hit five goals and provided six assists in 36 Ligue 1 Conforama appearances last season, told his club's official website. "This club is in my heart and so this was my desire: to stay and to continue to grow with the club and give the fans even more things to be happy about!"

"Dimitri is a huge part of our recent history and he personifies Racing's values, with talent but also with plenty of humility and hard work," underlined club president Marc Keller.
