Florian Thauvin is expected to return to the OM squad as they look to overturn a one-goal deficit in the return leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final against RB Leipzig at the Orange Vélodrome on Thursday evening.
Star Olympique de Marseille forward Florian Thauvin is fit and ready to go for the UEFA Europa League quarter-final second leg against RB Leipzig, according to the AFP.
"He trained normally, he's 100 per cent and he can play on Thursday," said a source at the club, who also noted that the France international (three caps) could have played against Montpellier on Sunday (0-0 in their Ligue 1 Conforama Week 32 clash in Marseille) but preferred "to rest himself". The forward trained normally on Tuesday.
A gap to bridge
Florian Thauvin was suffering from a lesion in his left hamstring, sustained while on duty with the France team during the international break. OM, who have gone scoreless in their last two matches without Thauvin, need to bridge a one-goal gap against Leipzig (1-0 in the first leg in Leipzig) when they meet in the second leg on Thursday.
