Mario Balotelli has thanked OGC Nice fans for "two amazing years" but the Italy striker has not yet said goodbye to the Ligue 1 Conforama side.
Balotelli's two seasons at Nice have been among the most fruitful of his career, and the former Manchester City and Liverpool striker's 14 league goals this season have helped keep his club in contention for a European qualifying place for the 2018/19 campaign.
Whether Balotelli is still a Nice player the remains to be seen as he is out of contract in June. The 27-year-old has, however, already sent a message to the Nice fans who have backed him during his time on the Côte d'Azur.
"It's been two amazing years, thanks to everyone…still five games to go," Balotelli wrote on his Instagram account. "It is not a bye for now, you never know the future. I only wanted to say thanks already now."
Illness is expected to keep Balotelli out of Sunday's potentially decisive encounter with Montpellier Hérault SC, who are in seventh place, just one point and a place behind Nice in the Ligue 1 Conforama table.
