International friendly

Allianz Riviera, Nice

France 3 - 1 Italy

Didier Deschamps (France coach): "The players have shown the right spirit in these two matches. But we mustn't get carried away. The final stage of our preparations still lies ahead. I'll give them two days off so they can have a break. We need to nurture what drives the team in terms of ambition and enthusiasm. We're not doing everything perfectly, but for the moment everything is satisfactory."

Roberto Mancini (Italy coach): "We committed some errors, but France are one of the very best teams. We also did many good things, but we know we need to improve, which is to be expected. At one point I thought we might make it 2-2, but I'm not saying we deserved to win it. France are superior to us. No-one likes losing, even if it's a friendly. Mario Balotelli played a good match, even better than against Saudi Arabia. Physically, he's where he needs to be. But he can still improve."
