Paul Baysse has thanked Girondins de Bordeaux for helping him fulfill "a childhood dream" after signing the defender from Malaga.
Baysse was born in the Bordeaux suburb of Talence, and was at his hometown club's youth academy. However, it was not until the 2010-11 season and his spell at Stade Brestois 29 that he made his top-flight debut.
Baysse went on to feature in Ligue 1 Conforama for AS Saint-Etienne and OGC Nice, but will now get the opportunity to do so for his beloved Bordeaux after completing his move from Spain on Wednesday by putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal.
"Thank you Bordeaux for fulfilling a childhood dream," Baysse tweeted. "I'm happy and proud to be wearing my colours again. I'm looking forward to starting the adventure."
Baysse, who has made 147 top-flight appearances, will be officially unveiled to the media on Thursday and will also enjoy his first training session with his new team-mates.
