Luiz Gustavo has singled out Olympique de Marseille team-mate André-Frank Zambo Anguissa for praise, declaring he is 'excited' by the Cameroon international's development.

Gustavo has carved out a significant niche for himself in the OM midfield since he arrived on the Mediterranean coast last summer, helping drive the club to fourth place at the halfway stage of the Ligue 1 Conforama season.

While the Brazil international has caught the eye, the 30-year-old former Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg man has been impressed by those playing alongside him, notably the 22-year-old Zambo Anguissa.

"There's nothing more interesting or exciting than to see a player increase his level during a season, someone who improves with time," said Gustavo of his young team-mate, who has featured in every league game under Rudi Garcia this season, making 13 starts.

"When I arrived, there were three players in the same role as him: Max [Lopez], [Morgan] Sanson and myself. Frank was the fourth option. Time went by and he's become almost indispensable. He's playing very well, he's very young, and has a lot of talent. He has really developed his play. I'm also very happy to play with Max and Sanson. Our relationship is just as good: in fact, it's only getting better."
