AS Monaco midfielder Joao Moutinho has reaffirmed his desire to extend his nearly five-year stay at the principality club, saying he hopes to achieve "great things."
Moutinho's current contract is up in the summer, but after re-establishing himself as first-choice in central midfield this season, the Portuguese sees no reason why he cannot play beyond the terms of that deal.
'Continue to do great things'
"We've already talked about it. I hope it will become clearer in a week or two," he told the press on the eve of Monaco's Coupe de la Ligue quarter-final clash with OGC Nice. "But that's my goal. I feel very good in Monaco. I like this club. It has given me a lot and I try to give everything I can back. I hope to continue doing great things with this club."
Moutinho has started 14 of Monaco's 19 Ligue 1 Conforama games this season - just five fewer than he did in Les Rouges et Blancs' French title-winning campaign last term - and has chipped in with a team high five assists as well as finding the target once himself.
