THE MATCH

PSG maintained their perfect home record in Ligue 1 this season with an utter demonstration of their force. Neymar was really in the mood, having missed Sunday's slender win at Nantes through injury, and PSG restored an 11-point cushion at the top of the table. They go to second-placed Lyon on Sunday.

Angel Di Maria, in great form at the moment, made the most of his start ahead of Kylian Mbappé with a double (4', 15') that took the Argentinian international to five goals in four matches this calendar year. Di Maria's first was a diagonal shot into the corner and for the second he applied the final touch after Neymar thought he was going to score with a clipped effort.

A rough night for Baptiste Reynet got worse on 21 minutes as Cavani equalled Ibrahimovic's club record of 156 goals in all competitions. The Uruguayan's header drew him level with the Swede, though he required 226 games to reach the mark compared to 180 for Ibrahimovic. Cavani did admittedly spend his life operating out wide when Ibrahimovic was at the club.

Three minutes before half-time Neymar scored with a deliciously curled free-kick. Over the wall. It was a taste of things to come. Twelve minutes after the restart Cédric Yambéré inadvertently set the former Barcelona man up for his second. The hat-trick followed (73') and it was an incredible solo effort as Neymar took out six defenders before beating Reynet.

Mbappé stepped off the bench to slam home a left-footed shot from close range, set up by Neymar. Inside the final ten minutes Cavani won a penalty and with the Parc des Princes clamouring for the striker to take it to beat Ibrahimovic's record, Neymar stepped up to stroke it home.

THE PLAYER: Neymar

The Brazilian became the first player to net a Ligue 1 Conforama quadruple since Edinson Cavani against Caen in September 2016. Neymar added two assists to cap an outstanding display that lifted him on to 15 league strikes for the season. The assists carried him to 11, the top total in the division.

THE STAT: 8-0

This was Paris Saint-Germain's biggest home win in Ligue 1 Conforma history.
