Mounir Chouiar bagged his first Ligue 1 Conforama brace on Saturday, helping Dijon FCO pick up a much-needed three points in their battle against relegation with a 2-2 draw at Girondins de Bordeaux.

Chouiar - a month past his 21st birthday - opened the scoring on the counter-attack, slotting coolly past Benoît Costil in the 16th minute. Replies from Hwang Ui-jo and Jimmy Briand looked to have Bordeaux on course for all three points, until a Chouiar moment of magic.

Again, it was a counter-attack, although this time the finish was less simple. Chouiar's step-over on the edge of the box sent Youssouf Sabaly scrambling, and his curled finish inside the far post left Costil with no chance.

"It's a pleasure to help the team win an important point," Chouiar said in the bowels of the Matmut Atlantique. "I couldn't really miss with the first goal but the second one was a bit special. I sent the defender one way and then shot directly and scored.

"Being consistent is the hardest thing for all players and especially attacking ones. We always look at the statistics and you have to be consistent. I tell myself in every game that I have to be decisive."

Coach Stéphane Jobard was also impressed with the former France under-20 winger, who was signed at the start of the season from Domino's Ligue 2 side RC Lens.

"Mounir had butterflies when he left the field," he said. "He's at the level I expect and we mustn't forget his defensive contribution either. He is a serious talent in on-on-one situations. He's a young player who's starting to adapt to the top flight. It was very good tonight and will have to be so against Monaco next Saturday."

The principality side have been warned.
