OM striker Florian Thauvin has returned to full training with André Villas-Boas' team and could be ready to put a long injury story behind him in less than a fortnight.
Florian Thauvin is on his way back. Having been sidelined since last September with an ankle injury, the French international winger is not far from returning to the competition.
After resuming training with the ball ten days ago, the former Bastia man trained with the rest of his team-mates on Wednesday morning at the Centre Robert-Louis Dreyfus - a session that he completed with no apparent problems.
Back in action?
Thauvin, who has only played in one Ligue 1 game this season, will probably not feature in the local derby against Nimes next Friday but, in keeping with what has been customary at the club, he could hope to play the following week when Amiens come to the Vélodrome on 6 March.
Thauvin's comeback will be a huge deal in Marseille - the World Cup-winner is not only immensely popular, but he has been the club's top scorer the past two seasons running, with 16 and 22 goals respectively, and has been sorely missed.
On top of that, the 27-year-old will be looking to fight his way back into the France national-team set-up ahead of this summer's Euro 2020, and will thus be fired up to get back on the goal trail - which should benefit both player and club.
