Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes says he understands why players go in hard on his fellow Brazilian Neymar.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar is generally singled out for special treatment by opposition defenders and Thiago Mendes, who joined Lyon from Lille last summer, thinks he knows why.
Mendes told UOL Esporte: "The challenges on him are ever more robust. It makes sense. If you let him do what he wants then he hits the floor and rolls around. Neymar's a great player and he'll always draw attention from any defender. When yoy play against him, beyond the fact that you don't want him to do well against your team, it's also the chance to show your worth as a defender."
