The PSG right-back, now with Tottenham Hotspur, has said he would love to engineer a return to the Parc des Princes and end his career with his boyhood club.

In an interview broadcast on Canal Plus Sports Afrique, 27-year-old Côte d'Ivoire right-back Serge Aurier revealed that he would like to end his career at PSG, where he played from 2014 to 2017 before signing for Tottenham through to 2022.

"That's the plan," he said when asked how he would feel about making PSG his last-ever club. "I'd like to end up in Paris because it's my favourite club. I read recently that some people associated me with Marseille in relation to a sentence I said, but they didn't quite understand what I meant."

Connection

The defender, who started his career at the renowned RC Lens youth academy before making the move to Toulouse, won no fewer than 11 major trophies - including two Ligue 1 Conforama titles - with the capital club and still has a deep connection despite plying his trade over the Channel with Tottenham.

"For Paris, I would have liked a lot more love, there's a bit of unfinished business," noted Aurier, whose time at the Parc des Princes was curtailed after an online incident that saw him fall out with then-coach Laurent Blanc. "It's been my club since I was a kid, it was a dream for me to end up in Paris and it's not finished yet. If I can finish my career in Paris, it would be a pleasure. I could have stayed there my while career. I follow PSG from a distance, but it's still my club and that won't change."
