Brazilian superstar Neymar talks us through his personal top five matches since smashing he world transfer record with a €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

Although the drama surrounding Neymar never seems to really die down, things seem to have settled for the Brazilian superstar after his push to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019. The Brazilian is once again adored by the ultras at Parc des Princes, and his performances, coupled with his body language and recent statements, reinforce the idea that the reconciliation has been mutual.

Neymar's has been a tumultuous time in the French capital, with some important ups and downs, but more importantly, some thrilling performances and some spectacular goals. Speaking recently to newspaper Le Parisien, he listed the five matches from the current campaign that have stood out for him.

Obviously

PSG Dortmund

Of course, chief among them is the 2-0 UEFA Champions League last 16 second-leg win over Borussia Dortmund, a match that broke PSG's three-season quarter-final hoodoo with Neymar also finding the net.

Lyon double-header

The gifted forward also cited two matches in Lyon - on 23 September in Ligue 1 Conforama (0-1), a hard-fought win against a tough opponent that was in stark contrast with the second one he mentioned - PSG's 5-1 rout of Les Gones - in Lyon - in the Coupe de France semis on 4 March.

Comeback, tribute

Finally, the former Barcelona man mentioned the match against Strasbourg that saw him make an exceptional comeback - and score one of the "most important goals of (his) career" - and the victory in Lille, where his double was dedicated to basketball champion Kobe Bryant, who tragically died with his daughter in a helicopter crash.

"Kobe's death affected me greatly. I had the pleasure of meeting him and learning from this star, who was an idol for me," said the Brazilian superstar. "We learned of his death at halftime. We were very sad. We were really sad. It was a tough game but instead of destroying us, the news made us stronger."
