Paris Saint-Germain's Spanish attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia gave a breakdown of his game in an interview released by the capital club.

You can tiptoe into the ultra-competitive world of Paris Saint-Germain and make your own way. That's what Pablo Sarabia is showing. Bought from Seville for an almost-negligible €18m, the Spanish international is making a great impression in his first season in the capital. Because he also personifies a state of mind, a way of being and doing, combining his performances with an irreproachable attitude.

Versatility and efficiency

Two assets in particular stand out for Sarabia: the first is his versatility. Used mainly as an attacking midfielder on the right or left - areas he has naturally frequented for years - Sarabia is a Swiss Army knife that can be used in midfield or as a second striker.

"I've played in a lot of different positions," said the 27-year-old. "The coach thought it was the right thing to do. And that went well. I played forward, right winger, left winger..."

Pablo Sarabia's other major asset is certainly linked to his attacking background: a flair and finishing worthy of the most clinical players in a squad that has no shortage of them. Thomas Tuchel has already been impressed by Sarabia's finishing, an asset developed at Real Madrid's Cantera youth academy.

"I think it's one of my qualities to come from behind and take advantage of a call to score," said Sarabia, who has a knack for pouncing second balls in the area. "It's true that we often work on the finish in front of goal. I try to come from behind whenever I can because I know it's difficult for defenders to cover that area."

A record broken in his first year at PSG

Pablo Sarabia's efficiency in front of goal was highlighted by some stellar Coupe de France performances that saw him bag seven goals in just five appearances - a record in the history of PSG.

"It's a very special competition," smile the Spaniard. "Things went well. I was able to play all the games and score a goal each time. That allowed me to make Paris Saint-Germain history. It's something extraordinary, something I'm very proud of."
