In view of widespread speculation on the subject of the resumption of the Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 campaigns, the LFP would like to remind everyone of the following facts:
1. The Bureau of the Board of Directors voted unanimously on 10 April on a project concerning the resumption of the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 championships. One of the hypotheses notably foresees the end of the 2019-20 league campaign (excluding play-offs) on 25 July and the beginning of the 2020-21 season on 22 and 23 August 2020. This same hypothesis foresees a restart of the 2019-20 season on 17 June 2020.
2. The LFP is now awaiting the government announcement at the end of April concerning the easing of lockdown restrictions, and in particular the conditions under which matches could be played behind closed doors.
3. The LFP is also awaiting UEFA's recommendations, which will be presented at its Executive Committee meeting on 23 April, and the Champions League match schedule.
4. Last but not least, the LFP has asked the FFF medical committee and the doctors' representative on the LFP board to draw up a medical and health protocol for the resumption of training, as announced last week by the main European championships (Bundesliga, Serie A, Liga).
Since the beginning of this crisis, the LFP and all football stakeholders have placed health as the top priority. In this context, the LFP has always scrupulously followed the government's instructions, and is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of the Interior to study the best conditions for recovery, guaranteeing first and foremost the health of all players as well as sporting equity and the economic sustainability of professional football.
