The LFP has moved to cover the audio-visual rights payments that Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs missed out on following the suspension of competitions due to the coronavirus pandemic in mid-March.

Meeting on 4 May, the LFP's General Assembly of the LFP adopted a resolution allowing the LFP to take out a state-guaranteed loan (PGE) with its banking institution.

Thanks to this loan, the LFP will be able to pay Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs the totality of the sums still to be collected in respect to audio-visual rights for the 2019-20 season.

These sums cover the last two instalments of the audio-visual rights for the 2019-20 season, initially scheduled for 5 April and 5 June 2020 respectively, and will thus help to support the cash flow of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs.
