OGC have Nice decided not to exercise the option to buy on Adam Ounas' loan deal, meaning the promising young forward will return to Serie A outfit Napoli for season 2020-21.

Brand-new OGC Nice owners Ineos have opted not to exercise the purchase clause in Adam Ounas' loan deal. The Algerian would have cost the Côte d'Azur club €20m, a sum considered too steep despite the promise Ounas showed.

The 20-year-old forward collected two goals and four assists in 16 appearances to help Les Aiglons to a fifth-placed finish - their best placing in three seasons since Lucien Favre's men pulled off a podium finish in 2016-17.

This announcement from the club sees Ounas - who came up through the youth academy and into the senior squad in Bordeaux before sealing a move to Napoli  in 2017 - follow Senegal right-back Moussa Wagué (FC Barcelona, five appearances for Nice) and Denmark left-back Riza Durmisi (SS Lazio, no appearances for Nice) in returning to their parent club after a season-long loan.
