Former Olympique de Marseille player Joey Barton has revealed he would love to take charge of a club of OM's stature.
Currently cutting his teeth as a manager at Fleetwood Town in the third tier of the English game, Barton remains a keen observer of OM, where he spent a season on loan in 2012-2013.
Speaking to fellow Englishman Darren Tulett on beINSports over the weekend, Barton commented on the current uncertainty at Marseille following the departure of sporting director Andoni Zubizaretta.
Barton said: "The last couple of days I've seen the fact that Zubizaretta's left his post and the whole club's up in the air at the minute. I've got to win a lot of trophies and win a lot more games - I've been managing 18 months - to manage a club of that magnitude. If that happens in the future, great, but I've got a lot of hard work to do as a manager between now and getting the Marseille job, that's for sure."
