Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has tipped Kylian Mbappé to rack up the Ballons d'Or as the Italian international believes the future belongs to the Paris Saint-Germain star.
Top scorer in Ligue 1 Conforama in each of the past two seasons - and a Ligue 1 Conforama champion four seasons running - the former Monaco striker has dazzled throughout his young career and Chiellini believes the 2018 World Cup winner is destined to become an all-time great.
In his autobiography, Chiellini wrote: "Who is destined to become the next global star and collect Ballons d'Or when Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi stop playing? It's the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, a truly unique player. The first time I saw him was on TV in Manchester City-Monaco. It was impressive. At the end of the first half, I asked Fabio Paratici: 'Who is he? What planet does he come from?'"
Chielleni's Juventus ended Mbappé's Monaco's thrilling Champions League run at the semi-final stage in 2016-2017. That summer both Mbappé and Neymar joined PSG and the rugged defender believes the young Frenchman has the edge over the world's most expensive player.
Chiellini wrote: "Mbappé's a player who leaves a good impression, he's a master artist. I think that Mbappé is better than Neymar, more consistent. The future belongs to him."
