After the launch of its new sites and the renewal of its entire digital ecosystem last January, the LFP continues its development and registered more than 15 million followers on its social networks at the end of May.
Thanks to the work initiated by its digital teams, the LFP has now reached the objective of 15 million followers across all its platforms (Ligue 1 Conforama, Domino's League 2, Ligue de Football Professionel) - that's a threefold increase over the numbers as recently as 2016.
Launched in November 2019 and acclaimed in recent weeks during the lockdown, Ligue 1 Conforama's TikTok account passed the mark of one million followers at the beginning of May - after just seven months of existence.
In parallel with this growth, the audience on social networks has also become considerably more international. Less than 10% in 2016, the international audience now represents 45% of followers. As a sign of this dynamic, 3 out of 4 followers are now sourced from outside France. The Weibo, WeChat, Toutiao and Douyin accounts for Chinese fans alone have more than 1.6 million followers.
Didier Quillot, LFP Executive Director:
"Digital is a strategic project for LFP and we are very proud to have passed the 15 million fan milestone across all our platforms - a target set at the beginning of 2020. This season, we have more than doubled our audience on social networks, with 60% more subscribers. With 45% of our subscribers being abroad, our international social networks are also essential to the development of our championships, and in particular Ligue 1 Conforama."
