Nice have confirmed the signing of exciting Reims left-back Hassane Kamara from Reims.
26-year-old Kamara enjoyed an impressive season as part of a stingy Reims defence and was named in L'Equipe's Ligue 1 team of the year. Ambitious Nice have been active in the transfer market this summer, having already recruited Morgan Schneiderlin, Robson Bambu and Flavius Daniliuc.
Left-back had been a problem position for Patrick Vieira's side and Kamara's signing for a fee estimated by the French press at some 4 million euros is something of a coup for the Côte d'Azur club.
Nice's delight in acquiring Kamara was evident in the article the club posted on the official club website: "Quick, strong and disciplined, Hassane enjoyed an excellent 2019-20 season with Reims. Named left-back in the 2019-20 Ligue 1 Team of the Year by L’Equipe, the left-footer was a model of consistency in the best defence in the championship. Before the season was stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic in March, he had played 28 matches (23 in L1) and scored two goals, against Paris and Monaco."
