Ligue 1 Uber Eats new boys Lorient have bolstered their attack by signing Austrian Adrian Grbic from Clermont.
The 23-year-old was second in the Ligue 2 scoring charts in 2019-2020 behind Tino Kadewere, scoring 17 goals in 26 games. The 1m88 forward has signed a five-year contract with promoted Lorient.
Grbic said: "I'm happy and proud to have joined Lorient. My desire was to stay in France. Having watched Les Merlus last season I saw they were a team that played good football and deserved promotion to Ligue 1. I'm delighted to be part of this team today. The project and the coherence of the club, as explained to me by the coach, sporting director, director general and the president, pleased me a lot. I'm signed up to a solid project and I can't wait to start work with Lorient. A great challenge awaits us and I cannot wait to take it on."
Lorient coach Christophe Pelissier commented: "Adrian had a very good season with Clermont. We followed him last season and his performances didn't go unnoted. He's very adroit in front of goal and has the profile of a modern forward with numerous technical qualities, notably from set plays, as well as great game intelligence. Added to our other attacking players, I'm sure he'll adapt to our playing style. We're of course very happy he's joined us."
