PSG announced on Saturday that World Cup-winning defender Presnel Kimpembe has extended his adventure with the capital club. The 24-year-old, who came up through the club's youth academy and is seen as long-term replacement for Thiago Silva, has signed through to 2024.

The story of Paris Saint-Germain and Presnel Kimpembe is set to continue. The 24-year-old French defender, a world champion in 2018, has signed a new contract with the capital club through to 30 June 2024.

13 trophies with PSG

Arriving at the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy in 2005, the native of Eragny - on the outskirts of Paris - has played 94 Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches since his debut in the 2014-15 season. And the least we can say is that his trophy cabinet is well stocked: Five Ligue 1 Uber Eats titles (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020), three Coupes de France (2016, 2017, 2018), three Coupes de la Ligue BKT (2016, 2017, 2018) and two Trophées des Champions  (2016, 2017).

With the future of long-time captain Thiago Silva uncertain - the Brazilian has extended his contract to cover the month of August ans the Champions League Final 8 tournament in Lisbon - Kimpembe's extension does a lot to assure the defensive future of the capital club.
