Rennes coach Julien Stéphan has challenged wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga to contribute more in front of goal following the 17-year-old's strike against Montpellier.

Having been named in the full France squad for the first time on Thursday the midfielder dazzled on Saturday and scored a lovely goal, his second in Ligue 1 Uber Etas following his match-winning goal at Lyon last season.

Camavinga scored Rennes' second in a 2-1 win in the 77th minute and his first start of the season came to an end 10 minutes later when he was subbed off to great applause. Stéphan spoke to him as he exited the field: "I told him that he had at last scored at Roazhon Park and with his left foot after having scored with his right against Lyon, and now the challenge for him is to soon manage to score a header."

The teenager has begun the season in inspirational form, setting up Rennes' equaliser at LOSC on the opening weekend before netting against MHSC. With the security of World Cup winner Steven Nzonzi playing alongside him in midfield the youngster has the opportunity to develop his game.

Stéphan commented: "In the future he must be capable of being even more decisive in terms of supplying assists and scoring goals as he has the capacity of getting into the box."
