Meeting on 10 September, 2020, the General Assembly of the LFP proceeded to the renewal of its Board of Directors and elected Vincent Labrune to the position President of the LFP.
Vincent Labrune, President of the LFP:
"I am very honoured to have been chosen by the directors of the LFP. It is a challenge that I take up with lucidity, humility, passion and determination. My watchword will be 'unity' - a unity that French professional football, with all its components, particularly among the clubs, must find. My objective will be to pacify the relations between the clubs, relations that have become a little strained over the last few months. I am also talking about the entire footballing family, whom I thank for their support today.
"What must come first is the greater good of French football. I hope that we will have great days ahead of us in terms of modernising French football. We must find the means for reform ourselves and we must increase our competitiveness on the European stage. There are many projects and we must carry them out together, with the clubs and the players. It is the players who capture our children's imagination and who draw our families to the stadium.
"My first step as President of the LFP will be to talk to the President of the FFF, Noël Le Graët, as I indicated at the General Assembly."
