Romain Philippoteaux has left Nîmes Olympique for Stade Brestois 29, signing a two-year deal on Tuesday.

On Tuesday Stade Brestois 29, currently ninth on the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table, announced the arrival of midfielder Romain Philippoteaux on a two-year, reportedly €500,000 deal.

The experienced midfielder has racked up just over 200 professional appearances in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT for the likes of Dijon, Lorient, Auxerre and Nîmes and will be looking to bring this resumé to bear as Brest look to improve on last season's 14th-placed finish.

With 27 appearances (five goals) from a possible 28 for Les Crocos in a truncated season 2019-20, Philippoteaux had solid season in Nîmes, even going as far as to say he wanted to end his career at the club.

However, when a desired contract extension offer from Nîmes failed to materialise, the attacking midfielder leapt at the opportunity to once again work with former Dijon coach Olivier Dall'Oglio.

Reunion

"Stade Brestois are pleased to announce the signing of Romain Philippoteaux for two seasons," declared Brest on their official website. "The attacking midfielder from Nîmes will bring his great experience to the team of Olivier Dall'Oglio, the coach who gave him his start as a professional at Dijon seven years ago."
