Despite Monaco going three matches without a win, captain Wissam Ben Yedder is convinced the Principality club will turn things around.

Ben Yedder finished last season as joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and his own form has been good, scoring five goals out of his side's 11 this season. Niko Kovac's side are languishing in 12th position in the table with 11 points but head into Round 9 only four points back from third-placed Rennes.

Speaking ahead of Monaco's home game with Bordeaux on Sunday afternoon, Ben Yedder said: "We need to keep getting to know each other and to get the understanding that will allow us to do things well. The coach arrived only recently and we mustn't forget that. We need to understand everything the coach wants and the style of play to be applied.

"We have a lot of quality and we've done good things. We need to be conscious of our strengths and have confidence in ourselves. Things went well at the start of the season, it's been a bit more difficult in recent matches but it's time to set things right. I'm sure this team has a lot of quality and we'll be able to turn things around."
