LOSC midfielder Yusuf Yazici has been elected the UNFP's Ligue 1 Uber Eats Player of the Month for December.

The UNFP - the Union nationale des footballeurs professionnels - is the primary trade union for professional footballers in France - and was founded by, among others, Just Fontaine in 1961.

Today the body puts a monthly vote to members of the public as well as other professional players as to which protagonist has impressed them most over the period. With two goals and an assist in five games for Lille, Yazici appears to be a deserved winner for December.

It is a fine achievement for the 23-year-old Turkey international, who has had to compete with Jonathan Ikoné, Renato Sanches, and Jonathan Bamba among others for the right to shine in the final third of coach Christophe Galtier's preferred 4-4-2 system.

Yazici finished ahead of Olympique Lyonnais forwards Karl Toko Ekambi and Tino Kadewere in the December vote. Bamba had previously won the award in October.
