Monaco have signed highly promising Senegalese winger Krepin Diatta from Club Brugge with the new arrival making his Ligue 1 Uber Eats debut in Saturday's win over Marseille.

Diatta, 21, scored 10 times and provided two assists in 19 Belgian top flight outings this season and also made five UEFA Champions League appearances before signing a five-year deal at the Stade Louis II late last week.

"Monaco are a really big club, I've followed them since I was little. Today, it's a dream come true. The club is ambitious and has objectives it wants to achieve. It's up to me to be up to the task and do as well as possible," Diatta told Monaco's official website.

"It's very important to learn from great players. I always try to learn from their experiences. I think that's what a young player needs: to learn."

Diatta came off the bench to replace Sofiane Diop with 22 minutes of Saturday's 3-1 win over OM remaining, and did enough to impress new boss Niko Kovac.

"I'm happy he's here, because he did very well at Club Brugge. He'll help us in the future. I'm happy he could be on the bench and in a couple of situations you saw his skills," the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich coach told French TV. "He's got a lot of pace and he's very good at one-on-ones. We're going to have a lot of fun with him in the future."

The Dakar-born Diatta arrived in Europe after playing at the Oslo Football Academy based in the Senegal capital, and he signed for Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08 in February 2017, joining Brugge the following January.
