Neymar has played 100 games in all competitions for Ligue 1 Uber Eats champions Paris Saint-Germain, scoring a remarkable 81 goals.

The world's most expensive player brought up his century of appearances for the capital club in Friday evening's 4-0 win over Montpellier, getting on the scoresheet to mark the milestone appearance at the Parc des Princes.

"I'm very happy"

The Brazilian international told PSG TV: "I'm very happy to have been able to play my 100th game with the Paris shirt on my shoulders. We won and I scored and all of that makes me happy. I'd like to thank Kylian (Mbappé) for setting me up for my goal! It was important too for him to score and to get his confidence back."

After signing from Barcelona, Neymar made his debut at Guingamp on August 13 2017 and started as he meant to go on, scoring one and setting up another. His statistics are ridiculously good with 41 assists to go with his 81 goals.

Neymar became the fastest Parisian to 50 Ligue 1 Uber Eats goals, managing it in only 58 games. His total now reads 51 league goals in 60 matches, while he has netted 21 times for PSG in the Champions League and 15 times in domestic Cup competitions.

Top stats

PSG have lost none of the 39 league matches in which Neymar has scored (34 wins, 5 draws) and the number 10's contribution goes way beyond the raw statistics. His spectacular playing style and extravagant skills have lit up French football since his audacious signing.

The memorable moments are too numerous to list, taking in the successful debut, through being involved in six goals against Dijon in January 2018, his acrobatic winner against Strasbourg in 2019-2020 and his 358 successful dribbles since coming into the French game.

Injuries

The only thing that has held Neymar - and PSG back - has been injury. The Brazilian's repeated absences have seen him miss 87 matches. Signed the same summer as Neymar, Mbappé brought up his 100 matches for the capital club in November 2019.

Neymar was presented with a commemorative shirt and a symbolic medal by Paris Saint-Germain for reaching 100 matches and both he and the club will hope that he can stay injury free and inspire PSG to more glory. Neymar turns 29 on February 5 and his Paris Saint-Germain contract runs through to the summer of 2022.
