Lille will look to in-form Jonathan David and Yusuf Yazici as they seek to hold onto top spot in Ligue 1 Uber Eats by beating Bordeaux on Wednesday to record a fifth successive win (kick-off 6pm CET).

Canada international David and Turkey international Yazici have been responsible for Lille's last three league goals in a four-game winning run that has left Christophe Galtier's men two points clear of the chasing pack.

Lille head to the south west without the suspended Benjamin André, and have lost on all three previous occasions they have been without the former Rennes midfielder, but Galtier expects the rest of his squad to maintain the high standards they have shown in recent outings, including Sunday's 1-0 win over Dijon.

"As soon as the Dijon match ended, we were looking ahead to the Bordeaux game," said the Lille boss. "I'm not going to be lulled into a false sense of security by the table. It makes me happy, it's a great achievement, that's true. But it will all be for nothing if we don't keep our demands on ourselves high right to the end.

"There are four teams who can challenge for the European places right now. We have to focus on the tiny details that make the difference at the very top level. We're leaders, but we're not the favourites. Lyon have a more favourable fixture list."

Galtier: 'A lot of quality and youth'

The former Saint-Etienne boss added that he is keeping a tight rein on his squad, who — captain Jose Fonte, André and a small number of others aside — are young and relatively inexperienced.

"My team has a lot of quality, but also youth, and we think things happen easily. That's what I have said to my players. We have to be more demanding of ourselves over the course of a whole game."

Galter is also without the experienced Burak Yilmaz, who is close to full fitness after a calf injury, though Jérémy Pied returns to the squad after two months on the sidelines as the northerners arrive at the Stade Matmut Atlantique with ambitions of recording a fifth straight away win.

WATCH: Bordeaux push Lyon

Though they have lost their last three encounters against Lille, including a 2-1 defeat earlier this season, Bordeaux promise to pose the visitors a serious challenge.

Jean-Louis Gasset's men had won their previous three top-flight matches and came close to extending their unbeaten run only to eventually slip to a 2-1 defeat at OL last Friday.

Gasset, however, is aware of the size of the task ahead.

"For me, Lille are the best organised team, they're improving, and are having an extraordinary season. They've lost two of 22 matches, one away from home," said Gasset, whose side would have claimed a point against Lyon but for Léo Dubois' spectacular late winner.

"I'd said we were playing the two teams that could challenge Paris for the title. You could see that we were progressing, that we were playing better, but when our opponents are not playing so well and we're in control, we have to be able to hurt them when we have the chance."
