Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas has offered no guarantees to coach Rudi Garcia, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

OL are second in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table and pushing for a first league title since 2008. Four times in their run of seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles between 2002 and 2008 OL changed their coach at the end of the campaign.

In an extensive interview with L'Equipe, Aulas said: "I'm happy that Rudi is getting results because I remember everything that people said when he was appointed. I like it when somebody deals with adversity with his own values and those of the institution.

"If Rudi reaches the end of the season with the objectives achieved, we'll have the same vision as in the past, as we'll judge him both on his performances and on the potential to carry on. If there's very, very good news, then of course everything becomes possible."

"What can we do to be champions?"

Aulas also spoke about his relationship with sporting director Juninho and director of football Vincent Ponsot: "I will get them together on Thursday, in order to show them that I can do this after a victory as well. The theme of the meeting, after the admittedly difficult win at Brest, is simple: 'What can we do to be champions?' I love these meetings as I always learn something. In the short term, Rudi is really strong, when it comes to spirit and the hatred of defeat, Juni is incomparable."
