Nice's Danish international forward Kasper Dolberg is close to a return from appendicitis in a boost to Les Aiglons' fight against relegation from Ligue 1 Uber Eats.
Dolberg hasn't featured since playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 derby loss at Monaco at the start of the month and has endured a disrupted season, managing only three league goals.
The 23-year-old could be back in the squad for Nice's trip to Rennes. Adrian Ursea's side have lost their last three league games and they're 16th in the table, only six points above the bottom three. Dolberg could be joined in the squad by Youcef Atal, ho hasn't played since January 23 because of a thigh problem.
Ursea: "He's obviously lost some physical conditioning."
Ursea commented: "Kasper hasn't been able to train for the last two weeks so he's obviously lost some physical conditioning. He's working really hard to make up for what he's lost. It's a pity as before this happened he was really in good shape, he'd got his sensations back, but unfortunately he had appendicitis and so now he's working to get his fitness back. As for Youcef, he was out for a bit longer than Kasper. He has worked and worked. That said, he needs to get his sensations back."
