Stade Brestois 29 made it official on Tuesday that Michel Der Zakarian will take over as head coach following the departure of Olivier Dall'Oglio.

It was in the pipeline, but now it's now official: Michel Der Zakarian is the new coach of Stade Brestois 29. The former Montpellier Hérault SC coach took over from Olivier Dall'Oglio, who has moved on to take charge of... Montpellier.

New adventure!

The new SB29 coach had four successful seasons with Montpellier (tenth, sixth, eighth, eighth) and will try to take Brest to the next level, even though the first objective will be to keep the club in the top flight. He has signed a contract for two seasons plus an option for a third.

Resumption on 28 June

"With 568 professional matches under his belt, Michel is a very experienced leader who will take charge of Stade Brestois' professional squad, who will be able to rely on his excellent knowledge of French football and his skills as a leader of men," read a statement on the club's website.

Der Zakarian will lead his first training session when pre-season preparations at the Brittany club begin on Monday, 28 June. He will be accompanied in this new adventure by Franck Rizzetto (former assistant at Montpellier) and David Bechkoura (former D4 coach at AS Monaco).
