Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Spain stopper and Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos, who will wear the number four jersey for the capital club. Check out some key stats from an ultra-impressive career so far.

A world champion and two-time Euro winner with the Spanish national team, four-time Champions League winner and five-time Spanish champion with Real Madrid, Sergio Ramos has one of the most enviable trophy cabinets in world football. In total, the central defender has lifted 25 trophies in his career. Newly signed by Paris Saint-Germain, Sergio Ramos now switches to Ligue 1 Uber Eats after 18 seasons in the Spanish league, 16 of which were with Real Madrid.

Headstrong

The 35-year-old defender, who came up through the academy at at Sevilla FC, leaves Real Madrid and La Liga with legendary status. Indeed, Sergio Ramos has made the fourth most appearances in Real Madrid's history with 469 La Liga appearances, second only to Raúl (550), Manuel Sanchís (523) and Iker Casillas (510). In 469 league games with Madrid, Sergio Ramos won 315 times (67% of the games). He has also scored 72 goals, an impressive figure for someone who started out as a right-back before settling into a central defensive role.

An excellent header of the ball, but also capable of scoring from penalties and free-kicks, Sergio Ramos is the most prolific defender in the Spanish league. With 19 goals, he is better than Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba (7) and now ex-Real Madrid team-mate Raphael Varane (6). Over the same period, Sergio Ramos attempted more than one shot per game (1.12 on average). Sergio Ramos is impressive in the air and has scored a staggering 39 headed goals in La Liga. In the 21st century, he is second only to three strikers, leader Cristiano Ronaldo (52), Aritz Aduriz (49) and Fernando Llorente (42). The Spanish international (180 caps) has scored 127 goals in his career in all competitions.
